Training for Staff
- Emergency First Aid at Work [Level 3]
AIM & OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this course are to provide the learner(s) with the knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of first aid situations. These skills will enable them to take on the role of an emergency first aider in the workplace.
This course forms part of our Education Services (see page).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Learners must be at least 14 years old
MAX. GROUP SIZE
8 people
DURATION
The course will be conducted over single day, totalling 7 hours of learning
DELIVERY & ASSESSMENT
The course will be delivered through audio-visual presentations and practical demonstrations. Learners will also have the opportunity to practice new skills under instructor supervision.
This course involves 6 hours of Guided Learning, during which the learner is taught and assessed under immediate supervision of an instructor. The remaining 1 hour is allocated to practicing the taught methods without immediate supervision.
Assessment for completion consists of competent demonstration of skills to the instructor.
CERTIFICATION
Successful candidates will receive a QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a Registered Qualification Framework, which is nationally recognised and regulated by Ofqual. Certification is valid for 3 years, after which time it is recommended to attend a refresher course.
This course can be delivered at the clients specified location or on IVIC Training premises. Course fees are dependant on the size of the group to be taught and the venue/travel arrangements. This can be discussed with the course organiser during registration.

- Role & responsibilities of a first aider, including: incident assessment, managing an unresponsive casualty and the recovery position
- CPR & Defibrillation

- Paediatric First Aid [Level 3]

The course will be conducted over 2 days, totalling 15 hours of learning
DELIVERY & ASSESSMENT
The course will be delivered through audio-visual presentations and practical demonstrations. Learners will also have the opportunity to practice new skills under instructor supervision.
This course involves 12 hours of Guided Learning, during which the learner is taught and assessed under immediate supervision of an instructor. The remaining 3 hours is allocated to practicing the taught methods without immediate supervision.
Assessment for completion consists of competent demonstration of skills to the instructor.
